Detailed Description...

Sweet Pea 'America'
Lathyrus odoratus

Quite different from the usual colors, this heirloom sweet pea variety has a delightful color combination of beautiful ivory blossoms striped with crimson-red, and is one of the most profuse and continuous bloomers of the antique varieties. The unusual color combination is reminiscent of the stripes on the American flag, hence the name. Extremely fragrant and heat-tolerant (unlike many of the modern varieties), this annual heirloom will grow approximately seven feet high in good soil. Give them support to climb on and these vining plants will produce loads of spectacular flowers right up to first killing frost.
