Passion Flower 'Fragrant Granadilla'

Fragrant Granadilla, also know as wingstem passionflower, is native to the Amazon region of Brazil where it is cultivated for its highly prized fruit. This rare variety is very similar to Giant Granadilla (Passiflora quadrangularis) but don’t grow as large and have slightly smaller blooms. Owing to its name, Fragrant Granadilla has very fragrant flowers and is a definite favorite among passion flowers. 15+ Seeds.

Passion Flower 'Fragrant Granadilla'

Fragrant Granadilla, also know as wingstem passionflower, is native to the Amazon region of Brazil where it is cultivated for its highly prized fruit. This rare variety is very similar to Giant Granadilla (Passiflora quadrangularis) but don’t grow as large and have slightly smaller blooms. Owing to its name, Fragrant Granadilla has very fragrant flowers and is a definite favorite among passion flowers. A vigorous grower from 10 to 20 feet, it flowers in late summer to fall with absolutely stunning deep red blooms about 4-5" across with fascinating violet & white striped filaments. These are only hardy in frost free zones but are excellent for container growing or as inside houseplants.
