Japanese Maple 'Hogyoku'

Owing to its striking autumn color of bright pumpkin orange, this Japanese Maple cultivar is often referred to as "Jewel of Fall". This is a great landscape specimen with an upright, compact growing habit, attractive summer green foliage, stunning autumn colors and beautiful pale bark. This variety is hardy in zones 5-9 and can grow to a mature height of approximately 12-15 feet. 15+ Seeds.

Japanese Maple 'Hogyoku'
Acer palmatum 'Hogyoku' cv.

Owing to its striking autumn color of bright pumpkin orange, this Japanese Maple cultivar is often referred to as "Jewel of Fall". This is a great landscape specimen with an upright, compact growing habit, attractive summer green foliage, stunning autumn colors and beautiful pale bark. This variety is hardy in zones 5-9 and can grow to a mature height of approximately 12-15 feet. It responds well to pruning and is also suitable for container growing or bonsai culture.

Note that tree seeds do not reproduce exact replicas of the cultivar from which they developed. Usually strong resemblance is found among the seedlings and often seedlings from the same tree will differ from one another! This uniqueness and variation in leaf shape, colour and habit in tree seedlings is part of the enjoyment of growing these beautiful specimens from scratch.
