Ricinus communis 'zanzibariensis'

The giant zanzibariensis castor bean will definitely add a tropical look to your garden or patio. Largest of all the castor bean species, these are extremely fast growing plants and can grow 15+ feet in a single season! Its huge umbrella-sized leaves can span up to 3 feet wide, and the stalks can be up to 6 inches thick. These provide great shade or privacy around a deck or patio or plant them along a property line to create a temporary hedge. May also be grown in containers for an exotic effect. Grown as a perennial in frost free zones and as a fast growing annual everywhere else, this plant is very easy to grow and requires very little care.
