Canna Lily 'Tropical Red'
Canna x generalis

What we like about this plant is the beautiful red color and the tropical looking leaves. The large green and banana like leaves make Canna Lily an eye pleasing plant through summer and fall. When the rest of the garden is going into fall colours this plant stays bright and cheery. Flowers are attractive to bees and especially hummingbirds. Grows to about 4-6 feet high and make excellent specimen plants or grow as a tropical backdrop. They may also be grown as a marginal water or bog plant. In zones 7 and above, grow as a perennial. In other areas the large rhizomes should be lifted and stored for winter in sand or peat. These can also be grown as an indoor tropical plant.
