Acacia 'Purple Fernleaf'

Acacias are sometimes called wattles or mimosa and make for great indoor bonsai. They are warm weather evergreen trees and must be wintered indoors in colder climates. This variety received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit in 1993. It is a fast growing ornamental tree noted for its silvery blue-gray feathery leaves that are tinged with purple. 25+ Seeds.

Acacia baileyana purpurea

Acacias are sometimes called wattles or mimosa and make for great indoor bonsai. They are warm weather evergreen trees and must be wintered indoors in colder climates. This variety received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit in 1993. It is a fast growing ornamental tree noted for its silvery blue-gray feathery leaves that are tinged with purple. The small, yellow, puff-like flowers are very fragrant and appear in clusters in late winter then sporadically after each new flush of growth, providing nearly year-round bloom. In its natural environment these can attain a height of 15-20 feet. Because of their small size, they are very well suited to bonsai. These also make wonderful landscape specimens in zones 9-11 or grow them as potted plants in colder zones.
