Japanese Pagoda Tree

A low maintenance, popular ornamental tree, the Japanese Pagoda is an elegant deciduous tree with an erect growth habit. One of the finest of flowering trees with elegant foliage and late summer to early fall creamy white blooms. Despite the name it is actually more common to China and Korea where native trees have been reported to be 100 feet high, although a more likely maximum height in the garden landscape is around 50 feet. 25+ Seeds.

A low maintenance, popular ornamental tree, the Japanese Pagoda is an elegant deciduous tree with an erect growth habit. One of the finest of flowering trees with elegant foliage and late summer to early fall creamy white blooms. Despite the name it is actually more common to China and Korea where native trees have been reported to be 100 feet high, although a more likely maximum height in the garden landscape is around 50 feet. Where space is limited it may be kept in bounds by regular pruning. This species is also very popular for bonsai culture. It is a relatively fast grower at 12 -18" per year. Hardy in zones 4-8, however young trees should be protected in colder zones.
