Detailed Description...

Himalayan Blue Poppy
Meconopsis betonicifolia

Sometimes referred to as 'Tibetan Blue', the famous and elusive Himalayan Blue Poppy is a uniquely lovely perennial plant that is ideally suited for the shade garden. Growing 3 to 4 feet tall and producing beautiful 3 to 4 inch silky blooms, they thrive in shade, acid soil and cool, humid conditions. Although not suited for all climates, they are actually quite easy to grow and hardy to zone 5 (possibly zone 4 with a good winter mulch). A rare and special poppy for collectors, this unique variety is well worth trying and immensely rewarding to view in bloom.
